“Skylar is the second track on the EP. We first released this as a single almost a year ago to the day. I came up with a little lick that I could not get out of my head, and that’s how the song began! It ends with a jam on that same melody, and I could not be happier with how it turned out.
The lyrics are all about driving. Getting in the car and just going anywhere has always been a huge release for me. I feel unnervingly comfortable and calm behind the wheel of a car. The song starts out with the line ‘I’ve got clauses again from gripping the wheel too tight when I’m driving.’ It’s a statement about how I’m always in my car, holding on tight to the wheel, thinking about something I probably shouldn’t be thinking about. It’s all about an escape from the mind. My car’s name is Skylar, hence the song title.”

lyrics
I've got calluses again
From gripping the wheel too tight
When I'm driving
I'm going too fast, you used to hate that
I just want to get there on time
For once in my fucking life
Another mile marker
Another town I'll never visit
I'm westward bound
When I wake up from my hotel sleep
Or lack there of, I'm going to figure out
Not what I want but what I need
I'm spending the entire drive in my head
Wishing you were here
But then remembering that I want you dead
Another state line
Another county road
There's now turning back now
I'm not going home
